Donna England Shipp
Donna England Shipp, 65, of Monticello, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
Donna Shipp was born in Glasgow, Ky. to the late Henry Buford England and Dorothy Elizabeth White England. She lived in Brooks, GA for a number of years before moving to Jasper County in 1984. She was a member of the Monticello Baptist Church.
She and her husband, Don worked tirelessly helping to create the Jasper County Recreation Department and continued her volunteer work by his side through the 18-plus years that he served as the Recreation Director. She was an inspector for the Excel Company in Covington. When not working, she spent time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Don L. Shipp of Monticello; daughters, Kelly Batchelor and Kasey Duvall of Monticello; son and daughter-in-law, Kyle Lee and Melissa Shipp of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Kala Batchelor, Cody Batchelor, Kyrsten Shipp, Kaitlyn Shipp, Megan Shipp, Kenneth Duvall, III, and Isabella Harden; great-grandchild, Blayne Bennett; and brothers, James Terrell England of Hardyville, Ky., Jake Raymond England of Tompkinsville, Ky., and Timothy Smith England of Hardyville, Ky.
Funeral services in Monticello will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Monticello Baptist Church. Dr. Robert Whitmire will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 2, 2014, from 5 until 7 p.m., at Jordan Funeral Home.
Funeral services in Kentucky will be held at 11 a.m. central time, Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Chapel of Brooks Funeral Home, 50 Main Street, Munfordville, Ky. 42765. Brother Billy Compton will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. central time, Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Brooks Funeral Home.
Interment will be held in the Pikeview Baptist Church Cemetery in Pikeview, Ky.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Monticello Baptist Church 334 W. Greene Street, Monticello, GA 31064.
