Sheriff’s Office Makes Multiple Drug Arrests

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) had a busy week last week with multiple drug arrests involving meth, cocaine, marijuana and other controlled substances.

•On April 1, while patrolling the Mansfield area in response to citizen complaints deputies made a traffic stop off County Line Road which resulted in the arrest of Felicia Danielle Crosby, 28, of Covington, Shawn Richard Griffith, 27, of Covington, and Jeremy Shane Kidd, 36, of Shady Dale. All three were charged with possession of meth.

•On March 28, while serving an arrest warrant at a residence on Rocky Creek Ridge, with a Mansfield address, the JCSO’s Crime Suppression Unit (CSU), along with deputies from the Patrol Division arrested Adam Lee Phillips, 20, of Mansfield, and charged him with possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and felony theft by taking.

Also arrested at the scene was Camilla Head, 18, of Covington, who was charged with possession of meth, possession of marijuana and possession of drug related objects.

•On March 27, as a result of an ongoing narcotics investigation involved in cocaine distribution, the JCSO CSU arrested David Tinsley, Jr., 35, of Monticello, and charged him with three counts of sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine and tampering with evidence.

Also arrested was Ezzard Mendall Williams, 34, of Monticello, who was charged with two counts of sale of cocaine.

•On March 26, the JCSO CSU executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence on Barnes Mountain Road, where they located a significant amount of meth along with digital scales and packaging materials consistent with illegal drug distribution, marijuana, prescription drug pills and several firearms.

Matthew Donald Cox, 28, of Mansfield, and Mary Lue Cox, 43, of Mansfield, were arrested at the scene and charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of schedule IV controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Also arrested was Marcus Rogers of Mansfield, who was charged with possession of Schedule IV controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

The JCSO also reported three other criminal incidents this past week with details as follows:

•On March 31 a resident on Malone Drive reported the theft of gas cans, Cokes and Dr. Peppers and a quantity of grapefruits.

•On March 27 the Jasper County High School reported the theft of a laptop computer.

•On March 26 a resident on Palalto Road reported the theft of a gas blower and a chain saw.

In addition, during the period of March 25 through April 1 the JCSO reported the following arrests:

•Tyler Dwayne Westbrooks, 20, Mansfield—statutory rape and two counts of contributing to the unruliness of a minor.

•Lisa Darelene Biddy, 39, Monticello—terroristic threats and act, affray and probation violation.

•Bradley Wayne Biddy, 17, Monticello—disorderly conduct.

•William Joseph Biddy, Jr., 21, Monticello—terroristic threats and acts, affray and probation violation.

•Jemel Leejuan Whitlock, 25, Galveston, TX—probation violation.

•Nezis Devaughn Manning, 17, Hillsboro—theft by taking.

•Dana Sterling George, 40, Newborn—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while license suspended or revoked and duty of driver to stop at or return to scene of accident.

•Thomas Jerrell Griggs, 32, Monticello—hold for warrant in Jones County.

•Octvious Lemon Jones, 26, Forsyth—hold for warrant in Monroe County.

•Diane Carol Wilson, 52, Monticello—deposit account fraud.

•Jonathan Andre Sims, 17, Monticello—obstruction of an officer.

During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 288 calls for service including 120 checking location, 68 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 15 attempt to serve warrant, 13 alarm, 11 subject needs officer, six each accident and assist motorist, four each livestock or road, escort or convoy and trouble unknown, three each mechanical breakdown, theft by taking and argument, two each fight, threatening/harassing calls, persons refuse to leave and abandoned vehicle, one each dog disturbance, burglary, domestic, speeding auto, intoxicated driver, intoxicated pedestrian, need assistance, special detail, pick up prisoner/subject, wanted/stolen indicated, be on the look out, child abuse/molestation, extra patrol, welfare check, juvenile complaint, discharge firearms, private property, vandalism of property, road hazard and lost property.

The Monticello Police Department did not report any arrests during this period, but did respond to 88 calls for service including 25 escort or convoy, 15 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 10 alarm, three each theft by taking, checking location and attempt to serve warrant, two each domestic, assist motorist, mechanical break down, fall, subject needs officer, and persons refuse to leave, one each courtesy ride, accident, intoxicated driver, intoxicated pedestrian, direct traffic, wanted/stolen indicated, child abuse/molestation, missing person, welfare check, juvenile complaint, trouble unknown, threatening/harassing calls, vandalism of property, trespassing, argument, persons refuse to leave, vgcsa and stalking.
