JV ‘Canes Beat Putnam

Junior Varsity Hurricane pitcher Garrett Scroggs struck out 12 batters in the ‘Canes 11-0 victory over Putnam County last Wednesday in six innings.

The sophomore only walked one batter in what became the team’s first win of the season. “Everybody on the team put the bat on the ball,” according to Coach Matt Riden. “We finally put everything together and played the way I knew we could.”

This win came after losing 5-1 to the same team two days before. The JV Hurricanes were scheduled to travel to Social Circle Monday in the hopes of adding another win. Then they will resume regular season play next week after spring break.
