Lottery Tickets Are Stolen

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) reported the recent arrest of Marvin Collier Stinson, 46, of Shady Dale, and charged him with theft by taking and probation violation.

The theft by taking charge came as a result of Mr. Stinson being identified as the person who entered Susie Q’s convenience store on Hwy 11 North last Thursday during business hours, and making off with 100 lottery tickets. No tickets were redeemed as the Lottery System automatically cancels the numbers of and tickets reported stolen.

Other criminal incidents reported by the JCSO include the following:

•On March 6 the Jasper County High School reported the theft of a student’s Apple Iphone and $5 in cash.

•On March 4 a resident on Henderson Mill Road reported the theft of a wedding ring set.

•On March 3 a resident on Freedom Road reported the theft of Kawasaki all terrain vehicle.

•On February 26 a resident on Eagle View Drive reported the theft of 42 inch Toshiba TV.

Also, during the period of March 4-11 the JCSO reported the following arrests:

•David Fitzgerald Hill, 49, Scottsdale–probation violation.

•Billy Wayne Gafford, 36, Mansfield–probation violation.

•Melvin Cooper, 58, Rutledge–possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain lane.

•Calvin Heath Ledford, 20, Monticello–enticing a child for indecent purposes.

•Jeffery Alan Custer, 32, Jackson–probation violation.

•Felicia Marie George, 27, Conyers–probation violation.

•John Scott Austin, 53, Monticello–hold for warrant in Newton County.

•Lauren Nicole Koehler, 25, Monticello: Probation violation.

•Toney Lee Thurman, 51, Monticello–child support.

•Quan Dameon Middlebrooks, 23, Monticello–purchase/ possess/manufacture/distribution of marijuana.

•Walter Mead Carter, 61, Monticello–public indecency.

•Pamela Sue Gornicki, 41, Columbian, TN:–driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain lane.

•Christopher Everette Head, 36, Monticello–reckless conduct.

•Kathleen Farrell Matthews, 30, Mansfield–possession of meth, theft by receiving stolen property and possession of marijuana less than one ounce.

•Robert Howard Brill, SR., 61, Newborn–interfering with a 911 call and battery.

Also during the period mentioned above, the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:

•Isaac Fanin Gordy, 24, Griffin–hold for warrant in Spalding County.

•Sharon Epps Berry, 46, Monticello–criminal trespass and probation violation.

•Tijara Dvon Miller, 32, Monticello–driving while License suspended or revoked.

In addition, during this period officers with the MPD responded to 59 calls for service including 20 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, seven each escort or convoy and music/noise complaint, four alarm, three each accident and threatening/ harassing calls, two each fight, assist motorist and trouble unknown, one each direct traffic, utility department needed, subject needs officer, juvenile complaint, shoplifter and vandalism of property.

During this period the Georgia State Patrol reported the following arrests:

•Leonard Lee Davis, 30, Monticello–driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and driving on an expired license.

•Carey Cornelius Bonner, 45, Monticello–two counts of deposit account fraud.

In addition, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources reported the arrest of Demarco Lecorey Sims, 29, of Jenkinsburg, and charged him with possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
