Spring Sports Are Under Way

Spring sports are gearing up and some are in action already despite it not feeling very spring like outside.

Jasper County High School tennis was scheduled to begin February 6 however inclement weather prevented a timely start with the teams playing their first match at Northeast Macon last Wednesday and first home match Tuesday versus Taylor.

The tennis team is coached by Patty Cole.

JCHS soccer was also scheduled to begin earlier this month but weather prevented the first few matches. The first soccer competition was held last week at Eastside and the first home competition is scheduled for March 7 versus Bleckley County at Rose Bowl Field.

The girls squad is coached by Amanda Paulk and assisted by Liz Hughes. The boys are coached by Michael Cooper and assisted by Michael Strickland.

JCHS varsity baseball began this week with a road game at Henry County and will play their first home game tomorrow, Feb. 28 against Social Circle at 5 p.m.

The team is coached by Chris Jenkins.

Hurricane track will begin Friday, Feb. 28 with a meet at Lamar County. The track team is coached by Eddie Roberts.
