Piedmont MS Teams Gain Experience

Piedmont Academy’s Middle School basketball teams continued to gain valuable experience, competing in games against John Milledge and Gatewood last week.

The Middle School girls fell to John Milledge 34-6 last Wednesday. Gracie Hunt, Madison Sanders and Anne Marie Hildrebrant each scored two points for Piedmont.

The Lady Cougars also fell to Gatewood last Thursday 21-6. Sanders finished with three points to lead the team while Madison McCart scored two and Lucy Tuggle added a free throw.

Piedmont’s Middle School boys team battled Gatewood to a 32-26 game led by eight points from Sam Wright. Owen Brady added six points while Tate Marks scored four and J.T. Webb added three. Jackson Waddleton and Browning Benton both scored two while Connor Olson added a free throw.

The boys fell 46-14 to John Milledge in game where Wright was the team’s leading scorer with six points. Webb, Caleb Coffee and Benton each scored two points while Marks and Brady both had one free throw.

The Piedmont Middle School teams will return to action Jan. 4 at home against Nathanael Greene beginning at 11:30 a.m.
