Monticello Election Is Tuesday
Forty people had chosen to vote early as of Tuesday afternoon for the city of Monticello election which has only one contested race.
Nearly 900 voters are registered in District 2, where there is one contested race. There are no contested races in District 1.
District 2, Post 2 Councilman Randy Strozier is being challenged by David Wease for his council post.
Other races that would have been up for contention include that of District 1, Post 2, where incumbent Larry Thurman has no opposition. In addition, the mayoral seat was up for grabs, but again, no one qualified to run.
