Recreation Programs Recognized at MHS Canes Game

The Jasper County Recreation Department football teams and cheerleaders participated in rec night at the Monticello Hurricane football game last Friday night at Rose Bowl Field.

The cheerleaders were able to cheer with the varsity cheerleaders during the pre-game performance. The rec football teams led the varsity football team in for the Canes Walk.

During half-time the announcer recognized the teams as they ran through the sign. The players and cheerleaders really enjoyed this experience.

The recreation department thanks Jasper County High School Athletic Director Chris Jenkins and Coach Eddie Roberts for letting them participate.

Results from last week’s recreation ball games include:

7-8 Canes—Tuesday, Oct. 1 beat Putnam County War Eagles, 7-6. Next game was to be Tuesday, Oct. 8, against Morgan County Jim Boyd Insurance at Morgan County.

9-10 Purple Canes—Tuesday, Oct. 1, beat the Greene County Bears, 14-7. Next game is Saturday, Oct. 12 at Rose Bowl Field vs. Greene County Saints.

9-10 Gray team—Tuesday, Oct. 1 fell to Greene County Saints, 14-12. Next game was to be Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Rose Bowl field vs. Morgan County Pro-Tech.

11-12 Canes—played Tuesday, Oct. 1 against Morgan Co. Mini Warehouse, losing, 8-7. Next game was to be Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Rose Bowl vs. Oconee County St. Joes.
