Mozelle Pope Wilbur

Mozelle Pope Wilbur, 95, of Decatur and Monroe died at home on September 24, 2013 with her daughter and a hospice worker by her side.

Mrs. Wilbur was a member of Martha Brown United Methodist Church.

A celebration of life service was held September 27 with interment at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain. Rev. David Collins officiated. Memorial contributions can be made to the Methodist Children’s Home in Decatur.

Mrs. Wilbur was preceded in death by her parents, K.C. and Capters Pope of Monticello; her husband of 54 years, Henley Tyler Wilbur, her grandson, Zachary Tyler Martin, and her brothers K.C. Pope of Monticello, Ellis Pope of Macon and her sisters, Virginia Hafer and Cordelia Pope, both of Monticello.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Martin; grandson, Josh Martin; grandchildren, Collin and Gabby Martin, and step-grandchildren John Gentry, Ringo Melanie and Dustin Hampton, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved family caretaker Doll Pope.
