Shiloh Loses Two this Week

The Shiloh Christian Academy (SCA) baseball team lost to Strong Rock Christian 9-7 on Monday.

SCA led by six runs in the second inning, but Strong Rock came back and put together a furious comeback to steal the victory, 9-7.

Sam Mitchell racked up two RBIs on two hits for Shiloh Christian.

He tripled in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Shiloh Christian jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the bottom of the second with a spark in the form of a Justin Nelson single, before S. Mitchell tripled, plating Ady Dahod and Nelson.

SCA pushed more runs across when S. Mitchell scored on an RBI single by Will Mitchell and Caleb Dinn, Riley Young and W. Mitchell scored on a three-run triple by Micah Compton.

After posting two runs in the third, Strong Rock scored five runs due to defensive errors in the fifth and scored two again in the sixth.

Caleb Compton had a great day on the mound only allowing two earned runs, walking one and striking out three.

The Knights also lost to Gatewood, 6-3 last Thursday.

Will Mitchell did all he could to give Shiloh Christian a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past Gatewood, as Shiloh Christian lost 6-3 in seven innings.

W. Mitchell racked up two RBIs on two hits for Shiloh Christian. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning. One run in the top of the fifth, an RBI on a ground out by C. Compton, helped Shiloh close its deficit to 6-3.

The Gatewood pitcher allowed two runs over three innings. S. Mitchell started out on the mound for Shiloh Christian, walking 3 and striking out 4 in the first three innings. C. Compton finished the game for the Knights on the mound.

Shiloh Christian hosts two teams in Newborn for its last two games. Friday, April 26, SCA will take on Lake Oconee Academy and Tuesday, April 30 they face Griffin Christian.
