Middle School Cougars Fall to John Milledge
The Piedmont Academy Middle School baseball team battled John Milledge close in both games of a doubleheader before eventually falling in each contest.
In game one, John Milledge took a 5-3 win. Wyatt Galloway worked four innings on the mound for Piedmont with a strikeout and one walk. Michael Edwards pitched an inning in relief.
Offensively, Edwards was 2-for-3 with a homer, two runs and an RBI. Zach Mooney was 1-for-3 at the plate while Talon Anglin finished 1-for-2 with a walk and RBI.
Mack Brady drew a walk and scored a run while Joseph Anderson walked and Owen Brady drove in a run.

In the second contest, Jordan Pace worked the first two innings with two strikeouts before Browning Benton pitched two innings. John Milledge took a 3-0 victory.
Anglin was 2-for-2 at the plate while Owen Brady was 1-for-2 and Pace was 1-for-3.
“Both games were well played,” said coach Dan Funt. “I was proud of our team’s effort. Pitching and defense kept us in both games. Our offense is still struggling, but has improved from the last couple of games.”
The Middle School Cougars will wrap up the spring schedule Saturday at home against Gatewood at noon.
