Piedmont Golfers Post Wins
The Piedmont Academy golf team continues to prepare for the upcoming region tournament.
Piedmont earned a 179-181 win against Bethlehem Christian Academy Monday as Drew Collins had a round of 40 followed by Branson Parish (44), P.J. Leonetti (47) and James Marks (48).
“It was not our best day, but we found a way to make a few putts and get the win,” coach Wes Tanner said. “It was a definite team effort and we picked each other up and made the shots when we needed them.”

The coach said he was impressed by the performance of some of his younger golfers including Chandler Burrell, Hunter Pope and Chase Olson.
“They all played very well and Hunter and Chandler both had career lows,” Tanner said.
Piedmont also defeated Gatewood in recent action away from home 166-176.
“It was a great way to come back after our match with them a couple of weeks ago,” Tanner said. “We were really consistent.”
Collins led the team with a 34 followed by Parish, Marks and Leonetti at 44. Payden Cantera, the team’s No. 5 golfer, finished with a 45.
“It was nice to see us come back and show some resilience after what was our worst match of the year,” Tanner said.
Piedmont’s B-team golfers defeated Central Fellowship led by Pope, Olson, Burrell and Savannah McGinnis.
Piedmont will play at Brentwood April 29. The B-Team is scheduled to host Nathanael Greene Monday at 3:30 p.m.
