Burglar Hits Store on Hwy. 11 North
Barely a month since the last of the four participants of the January, 2011 armed robbery of Susie Q’s Convenience Store pled and was sentenced, the store was hit again, this time it was a burglar who forced his way into the store at approximately 1:30 a.m. last Thursday, April 11.
The alarm was set off and a deputy with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) and the store owner responded within 10 minutes, only to find the perpetrator had made his escape on foot with a small amount of cash and possibly some tobacco products.

Also, during the period of April 9-16 the JCSO reported the following arrests:

•Kevin Andrew Wilhite, 27, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
•Alfonso Victrum, 38, Cordell—child support.
•David Lee Sherill, 48, Lithonia—probation violation.
•Noah Austin Hyde, 19, Covington—probation violation.
•Joshua Shane Myers, 28, Monticello—hold for warrant in Henry County.
•Raymond Edward Christian, 48, Monticello—habitual violator, giving false information, open container, tag light violation, no insurance, operation of a vehicle without current plate, and removing or affixing license plate with intent to conceal.
•Timothy Dwain Conner, 29, Covington—probation violation.
•Michael Paul Stout, 28, Social Circle—probation violation.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 310 calls for service including 149 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 31 checking location, 18 subject needs officer, and 11 assist motorist.
Also, nine each alarm, road hazard and accident, seven each attempt to serve warrant and juvenile complaint, and five each mechanical breakdown.
During the period mentioned above the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:
•Carrillo Rodriguez Apolinar, 24, Monticello—driving with no license.
•Evelia Perez-Cruz, 23, Monticello—driving with no license and traffic violation.
Also during this period officers with the MPD responded to 62 calls for service including 15 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, and six each escort and subject needs officer.
In addition, during this same period the Georgia State Patrol reported the following arrests:
•Ashley Nicole Latham, 30, Gray—driving while license suspended or revoked and seat belt violation.
•Jeremy Adam Smith, 29, Monticello—speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Sheena Rose Davis, 53, Mansfield—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs/less safe, failure to maintain lane and license to be carried and exhibited on demand.
