George Edward Broome

Funeral services for George Edward Broome, 71, of Lula, were held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Franklin officiating.

Mr. Broome resided most of his life in Gainesville, but lived in Monticello for 10 years. Mr. Broome died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

He was a retired electrician and a member of the Holiness faith.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Broom of Lula; his daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Ricky Batchelor, Laura and Terry Matthews, all of Monticello, Lynn Kidd of Eatonton; son and daughter-in-law Larry and Brenda Broom of Shady Dale. Survivors also include seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Lula Lawson and a brother, Harvey Galloway, both of Gainesville.
