PLAY BALL

Recreation ball for youth started Monday with lots of action on several fields, as well as activities the parking lot where recreation supporters held a chickenque to benefit recreation on opening night.

Recreation Director Wes Chester said nearly 400 children are participating in youth ball this year, and that for the most part opening night went smoothly, although things were running a little behind.

Youth play ball every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and some Wednesdays at the recreation department, so everyone is invited to come out and support the youth of the community at the ballpark any evening between 6 and 9 p.m.
