Piedmont Track Season Opens Next Week

The Piedmont Academy varsity track teams will open the 2013 season Wednesday, March 13, at Gatewood.

Piedmont will have four regular season meets prior to the region competition in late April.

Competing this spring for the varsity girls will be Abigail Hyde, Heather Tyler, Parker Kelly, Emily Hammonds, Alicia Peek, Ameilia Dodson and Bailyn Whitaker.

Chris Coogler, Ben Davis, Britton Bailey, Nick Dimsdale, Logan Partenza, Hank Strickland, Austin Bass, Gaven Edge, Zack Mayfield, Christopher Cain, Barrett Whitaker, Joseph Hardin, Payden Cantera and Cameron Hammock will compete on the boys team.

Following the first meet of the season, Piedmont will travel to Brentwood for a March 27 competition.

The state track meet will once again be in Albany at High Mills Stadium.
