Man Gets 12 Years for Susie Q’s Robbery
Myles Xaiver Campbell, charged in the armed robbery of Susie Q’s convenience store on Hwy 11 North in January 2012, plead guilty in criminal court Tuesday to a reduced charge of robbery and theft by receiving stolen property, with Judge Hugh V. Wingfield, III presiding. Prior to court, Mr. Campbell had been detained in the county jail on unrelated charges.
Mr. Campbell was sentenced to 12 years with seven years to serve. He was the third suspect to plead guilty and be sentenced in the case. A fourth suspect, Nicholas Standifer, refused to plea and remains in the county jail pending a trial.
Listed below are other individuals who plead guilty, the charges and the sentences:

• Jeremy Mann to fleeing/attempting to elude and possession of methamphetamine—sentenced to five years with one year to serve and fined $1000.
• Michael Marshall to failure to register as a sex offender and obstruction of an officer—sentenced to 10 years with three years to serve and fined $1000.
• Labarron Farrar to theft by shoplifting—sentenced 12 months on probation and fined $300.
• Robert E. Carpenter to two counts of disorderly conduct and affray—sentenced to 12 months probation and fined $200.
• Deborah C. Livers to manufacture of marijuana—sentenced to 10 years with two years in confinement suspended and the first 12 months of probation to be served on Intensive Probation Supervision and fined $1000.
• William D. McCranie to DUI less safe—sentenced to 12 months on probation with the first 10 days to be served in confinement and fined $800.
• Dean Kilby to two counts of obstruction of an officer and criminal trespass–sentenced to 12 months on probation and fined $300.
• Steven Nelson to driving while license suspended and possession of marijuana less than one ounce–sentenced to 12 months probation with the first 48 hours to be served in confinement and fined $500.
• Jacob A. Casteel to interference with government property–sentenced to 12 months probation and fined $400.
• Kim Slaughter to battery/family violence and reckless conduct–sentenced to 12 months probation and fined $500.
• Richard L. Rodriguez to battery–sentenced to 12 months probation and fined $400.
• Leonard Lee Davis to battery/family violence and reckless conduct–sentenced to 12 months probation and fined $400.
• Carl D. Martin to possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana–sentenced to three years on probation and fined $1000.
• Bradley D. Parker to battery/family violence–sentenced to three years on probation and fined $600.
• Kyle J. Battaglia to driving while license suspended, giving false name, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of dihydrocodeinone–sentenced to three years on probation and fined $800.
• Michael A. Livers to manufacture of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine–sentenced to seven years on probation and fined $1000.
Also, a bench warrant was issued for the arrest of the following individuals who failed to appear to answer charges:
• David Jason Oglesby, charged with battery/family violence.
• Leon Culver Kelly, charged with theft by taking.
• Samantha Ann Ford, charged with battery/family violence and four counts of reckless conduct.
• Aron N. Childress, charged with theft by taking, theft by receiving stolen property and criminal trespass.
• Valencia Michelle Boswell, charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, giving false information, coming inside guard lines to deliver (three counts), possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, drugs not in original container and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (two counts).
• Frank Lackey, charged with simple battery/family violence.
No trials were scheduled for the week, however, approximately 48 other cases on the calendar were continued with charges including burglary, rape, child molestation, armed robbery and aggravated assault.
