Jasper Schools to Roll Out New Performance Index
Georgia was one of the states which obtained a waiver from the US Department of Education to drop the federal program entitled No Child Left Behind, and to replace it with a system of their own for a test period of one year.
The new program, Georgia’s College and Career Ready Performance Index (GCCRPI), will be rolled out some time during next month with scores based on the prior year’s numbers, and a second progress report is scheduled for September.
Superintendent Dr. Mike Newton presented the GCCRPI to the school board Tuesday evening during their regular monthly meeting, and pointed out that the index will be measured in points with 100 being possible to achieve.
