Middle School ‘Canes Complete Regular Season

The Jasper County Middle School basketball teams finished up their seasons last week with wins.

The JCMS boys ended the season tied for first in the PAC league with a record of 12-2. They ended the season with a win over Social Circle where they scored 62 points.

Head Coach Rufus Whitlock says “they are a fast break team who loves to press and score off turnovers.”

The JCMS girls basketball team won a big game vs. Carver Middle School. Head Coach Stephanie Scott says, “the girls are improving every week and I am very proud of their effort and hustle.”

Both the middle school boys and girls will participate in the first round of the league tournament at Youth Middle School in Loganville, on what is know as “Super Saturday,” this Saturday, Feb. 2. They boys will play at 3:15 p.m. and the girls will play at 4:30 p.m.

If the teams win during this tournament, they will advance to play in the semifinals on February 6, and then the championship on February 8. All games are held at Youth Middle School.
