Eugene ‘Mr. C’ Maddox
Eugene “C” Maddox, the son of the late Will and Annie Maddox was born on December 10, 1924, in Hillsboro. He died January 25, 2013 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle.
A private family service was held on Sunday, Jan. 27, with visitation at the chapel of Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Monticello.
Mr. Maddox received his education in the public schools of Jasper County. He proudly served honorable in the United States Air Force and retired as a veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War.
He worked many years for the Jasper County Board of Education Transportation Department as a devoted bus driver and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and raising chicken, repairing cars and driving motorcycles. Mr. “C” was a kind and gentle giant.
Mr.”C” is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; a son, Patrick; daughters, Margaret Ann and Lisa; grandchildren, Yvette, Maya, and Skylor, and a host of other beloved relatives.
Smith and Sons Funeral was in charge of arrangements.
