2013 STAR Students, Teachers Are Introduced

Olivia Aldridge has been named STAR student at Jasper County High School, and Carley Cain represents Piedmont Academy as STAR student.

The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition program rewards one outstanding senior in each school each year, and the student is chosen based primarily on his or her SAT scores.

Miss Aldridge chose for her STAR teacher, English teacher Brian Patrick, and Miss Cain chose Bobbi Sauls for her STAR teacher.

A luncheon honoring both sets of STARs and the naming of the county STAR is planned for Monday, Feb. 25, at Deptula’s Restaurant in Monticello. It is sponsored by the Monticello Kiwanis Club.
