Middle School Basketball Cougars Earn Win
The Piedmont Academy Middle School boys basketball team posted a 26-12 victory at home last week against Brentwood.
The Cougars were led by Wyatt Galloway, who scored a game-high 11 points. Zach Mooney and Michael Edwards both finished with four points while Jordan Pace connected on a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter.
Piedmont also got two points from Joseph Anderson and Mack Brady. The game was close at halftime with the Middle School Cougars holding a two-point lead.
The Middle School Lady Cougars fell to Brentwood 26-10. Madison Burnham was the leading scorer for Piedmont with five points with Lucy Tuggle scoring four. Ashley Johnson connected on a free throw in the third quarter.
Piedmont’s Middle School teams traveled to Gatewood Friday for a rematch from earlier in the season. The boys fell 38-10 and were led by Galloway and Mooney who both scored four points and Zach Sanders who added two.
The Lady Cougars fell 28-6 to Gatewood in Eatonton. Tuggle, Johnston and Burnham all scored two points.
Piedmont’s Middle School basketball teams will return to the court Friday at home against Trinity beginning at 3:30 p.m.
