Catherine Pye Sternberg

Catherine Pye Sternberg, 91, of Valley Park, Mo. was born July 12, 1921, in Monticello, to Durwood and Frances Pittard Pye, Sr., and died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Meramec Bluffs Nursing Home in Valley Park, Mo.

She married Richard W. Sternberg, Sr., on May 10, 1941.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and five siblings, Durwood Pye, Jr., Elizabeth Harris, Emily Jordan, Sarah Pye, and Frances Bailey.

She is survived by three children, Richard W. Sternberg, Jr., of Glenpool, Okla., Ann Sternberg, of Fenton, Mo., and Donald Sternberg, of Valley Park, Mo., five grandchildren, Candice, Summer, Josh, Stephanie and Jennifer, and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Sternberg was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, in Kirkwood, Missouri. She is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A service was held Friday, Dec. 30, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 505 S. Kirkwood Rd., Kirkwood, MO 63122.

Interment will be Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at 1 p.m. at West View Cemetery in Monticello.
