Shiloh Is Swept at Home and is 3 of 4 at Twiggs

The Shiloh Christian Academy (SCA) basketball teams hosted their first home games last Tuesday when the John Hancock Academy Rebels from Sparta came to town and swept four games from the Knights.

In the middle school girls game, the Lady Knights kept the game close throughout, succumbing to a 22-16 loss at the final buzzer. Maddy Davidson lead SCA with 10 points while McKenzie Tolbert, Rachael Jackson, and Ambriel Wyatt each added 2.

In the middle school boys game, the Rebels prevailed again, with a 36-30 final score. The Knights were led by R. J. Whitlock with 12 points and Sam Mitchell with 10. Scoring also were Kelly Yeomans with 4, Nathan Crawford with 2, Will Mitchell and Parker Wyatt, adding 1 each.

In the first ever SCA varsity girls game, the ladies fell 58-35 to John Hancock. The scoring was led by Remington Marsh with 16 points. Tolbert and Ashlyn Kerbow each added 4 points apiece.

The debut SCA boys varsity game also ended with a loss 57-35. David Sorrells led the boys with 14 points, followed by Whitlock with 7. Taylor Richardson with 6 and Justin Clark added 4. Sam Mitchell and Jacob Young also had a basket each.

On Friday the same SCA teams travelled to Jeffersonville to face the Twiggs Academy Trojans and dropped three out of four. The middle school girls got the only Shiloh victory of the night when they defeated the Lady Trojans 31-12. Tolbert led the Lady Knights scoring 19 points, followed by Jackson with 10 and Wyatt with 2.

The middle school boys were close, but lost 24-20. It was a close game, with 12 points from Whitlock and 6 from Sam Mitchell. Parker Wyatt added 2 as well.

The varsity teams both lost with the Lady Knights final 40-29 and the Knights, 62.35.

The Lady Knights fell short after a late rally, and the Knights fell behind early and never recovered.

The girls were led by Kerbow with 10, while Marsh, Tolbert, Wyatt, and Cleveland had 4 each, and Jackson added 3.

The boys were paced by Richardson with 8, Clark with 7, Sam Mitchell and Young with 6 each, Sorrells with 4, and Yeomans and Whitlock 2 apiece.

The middle school and varsity teams were to travel to Sparta Tuesday, Nov. 20 for a rematch with John Hancock Academy.

The Jr. Pro (fourth-sixth grade boys) and the middle school teams will then host the Titans of Lake Oconee Academy next Monday, Nov. 27.
