JCMS Wrestling Off to a Good Start

The Jasper County Middle School wrestling season has begun, and the team is off to a good start.

The team wrestled against one another to see who would advance to compete against Social Circle at the Redskin Rumble on Saturday, Nov. 17. The team is also scheduled to travel to Athens and McDonough for meets and will host more meets on December 15 and January 8.

The team is coached by JCMS social studies teacher Justine Martin and JCHS teacher Aubrey Fortson.

Coach Martin said, “Come join the excitement and cheer on the JCMS Wrestling team.”

Kevin Jacobs, a student in Hattie Sands’ and Cindy Darity’s class, joined the Jasper County Middle School wrestling team recently.

The next home meet is Tuesday, Nov. 27 against Greene County and GMC.

This Friday, Nov. 23, Bullritos, restaurant in Covington, will donate 20 percent of purchases to the JCMS Wrestling Team. A flyer must be presented with all purchases, and the flyer is available on the JCMS website (under athletics/wrestling).
