Chris Castellana Wins with Close Tie-Breaker

CHRIS CASTELLANA RECEIVES PRIZE FROM SANDRA BORN

Chris Castellana was this week’s football contest winner, picking up a $25 prize from Sandra Born at Monticello Pawn Shop.

Mr. Castellana correctly guessed 13 right and only missed on Texas A&M’s victory over Mississippi State and the Redskins loss to Carolina, which was a miss for a majority of contest players.

Mr. Castellana guessed the tie-breaker of 35 points in the Alabama at LSU match-up final score of 21-17. He was closer than Stephanie Fraser and Tyler Van Horn, who also each had 13 correct but guessed lower tie-breakers.

In addition to the three with 13 correct, Brady McMichal, Lauren Johnson, George Rae, Austin Pierce, Rhett Long, Jan Lewis, Brian Harper, Trey Britt, De’Atrius Stone, and Morgan Stokes will each have their name added to this week’s Honor Roll for correctly guessing the winners in 12 of the games listed.

Players this week were stumped mostly by the NFL games with the most misses being that of the Redskins loss to Carolina and the Steelers victory over the Giants.

Also on the college games, most contest players picked Texas Tech, which was upset by Texas.

With each week’s winner comes a clean slate, and contest players have a chance to pick up this week’s prize from sponsor Primary Care Center of Monticello. The contest is on page 17 of this week’s paper. All entries must be faxed to 706-468-6576 or dropped off at 237 W. Washington Street by 5 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 9.
