Lady Cougars Compete in All-Star Game

Piedmont Academy senior softball players Kacy Swart, Hailey Burnham and Heather Tyler were chosen to compete in the GISA All-Star softball games, played Saturday in Macon.

In addition, Lady Cougar coaches Danny Camp and Dan Funt were selected to guide the Class AA All-Star squad along with Flint River coaches Brad and Kathy Gregg.

Swart pitched the final two innings of game two, which was won by the AA team 7-3. The Class AAA All-Stars won the first game 8-5.

Offensively, Swart finished the doubleheader 7-of-8 with a homerun at Mercer University’s field. Burnham and Tyler also had multiple hits.

“They all did well,” Camp said. “We were glad they were to take part in the games.”
