‘Canes Lose to Macon Co.

Monticello’s varsity ‘Canes drew first blood at their homecoming game last Friday, scoring on their first possession to lead Macon County 6-0.

The photo above shows Thomas Deraney (20) punting the ball, something the ‘Canes had to do way too often Friday. They fell to Macon County, 47-6. Tomorrow night, Nov. 2, they are scheduled to travel to Cochran, for a region game versus the Bleckley County Royals, who are 6-2 overall and 4-1 in region play with their only region loss to undefeated Lamar County, who occupies first place in Region 4AA.

On Saturday, Nov. 4, the ‘Canes will conclude homecoming festivities with the homecoming dance at the school.
