Most Court Cases On Calendar Are Continued
There were 13 criminal cases on the Jasper Superior Court Criminal Motion Calendar Tuesday, with Judge E. Trenton Brown, III, presiding. However nine cases were continued and the results of two others were still being held in the probation office at press time.
The results of the three cases that were processed are as follows:
•Larandy Gotel was found guilty of violation of probation and sentenced to 90 days to serve in the Jasper County Jail with credit for time served, to be suspended upon payment of court ordered fines and fees which are in arrears, and upon release be returned to regular probation supervision as originally ordered.
•Jacob Andrew Casteel, charged with interference with government property, a felony, had his motion for bail approved to be released upon posting bail in the amount of $1,000.
•Alonzo D. Standifer was found guilty of violating his probation by committing the new charges of two counts of obstruction of an officer, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and failure to pay court ordered fines and fees. Mr. Standifer was released from jail with credit for time served and given 30 days to pay his arrears.
Failure to do so in that time period will result in a sentence to serve four weekends in the Jasper County Jail and upon completion return to regular probation.
