Middle School Cougars Defeat Brentwood

The Piedmont Academy Middle School football team returned to action last week and recorded a 26-0 win against Brentwood in a home contest.

“We played well offensively and defensively,” said coach Wes Tanner. “I felt like we controlled both lines of scrimmage. The game was the best we’ve executed this year. It was a great effort defensively as we held them scoreless.”

The win improved the Cougars to 3-3 as they prepare to travel to Gatewood today, Oct. 18, for a 6:30 p.m. contest.

“We played pretty well against Gatewood in the earlier meeting,” Tanner said. “We had a couple of turnovers that hurt. If we play a good game and execute, we should be in it until the end. The players seem to be looking forward to this game.”
