Burglars Take Everything Including the Kitchen Sink
Last week an empty rental house on Hwy. 11 South in Hillsboro was hit by burglars who made off with the kitchen sink and faucet, the kitchen solid surface counter top, the stove, the refrigerator, the dishwasher and the water heater. The owner of the property also reported to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) that the property had been vandalized.
During the period of October 8-14 the JCSO reported the following additional criminal incidents:
•On October 14 a property owner reported his lake house on Anglin Road, in west Jasper County, had been robbed of iron artwork, hearth decorations, lamps and picture frames.
•On October 12 a resident on Bear Creek Point Road in Mansfield reported the theft of a Ryobi weed eater, a Stihl Chainsaw, a Homelite chainsaw, and a gallon of gas.
•On October 13 a property owner reported a burglary at a house on Bluebird Court in Turtle Cove where items taken included a TV, washing machine, dryer, and a box spring and mattress.
•On October 9 a resident on Hwy. 83 North reported the theft of male and female gold rings, Indian rings, and rifles (type and quantity not included).
•On October 8 property owner reported a burglary at a house on Jackson Lake Road where items taken included hydrocodone tablets, two ladders and a bucket containing various tools.

Also, during the period of October 8-15 the JCSO reported the following arrests:
• Justin Miles Hall, 30, Covington—failure to maintain lane and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Olin Bubby Bradshaw, 26, Jackson—probation violation.
• Clayton Scott Hardy, 17, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Dustin Mitchell Sailors, 18, Monticello—furnishing/purchase/possession of alcohol by persons under 21 years of age.
• Steven Cody Christian, 28, Covington—simple battery and criminal trespass.
• James Gabriel Holcombe, 29, Newborn—probation violation.
• Richard Otis Lloyd, 46, Monticello—probation violation.
• Juan Santiage Mayoral, 31, Hawkinsville—driving with no license.
•Jackey Lee Cole, 40, Monticello—theft by taking and forgery in the first degree.
•Andrew Colin Jackson, 25, Covington—probation violation.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 147 calls for service including 36 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 19 alarm, 14 subject needs officer, six each speeding auto, accident and theft by taking, five domestic, four each pick up prisoner/subject, trouble unknown and vandalism of property, three each dog disturbance, burglary, assist motorist, juvenile complaint and argument.
Also, two each livestock on road, intoxicated pedestrian, mechanical break down, be on the look out, assault and threatening/harassing calls, one each armed robbery, courtesy ride, intoxicated driver, mental person, fall, missing person, welfare check, four wheeler, discharge firearms, disorderly, music/noise complaint, shoplifter, road hazard, trespassing, fraud/theft by deceiving and 911 hang up.
Also during this period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following two arrests:
• Alonzo Devonta Standifer, 22, Monticello—burglary and probation violation.
• Kandy Annette Fite, 50, Monticello—theft by shoplifting.
•Terrance Durand Brown, 17, Monticello—obstruction of an officer, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, loitering or prowling and criminal trespass.
•Jaquavious Tyonnee Standifer, 17, Monticello—criminal trespass, obstruction of an officer and loitering or prowling.
•Austin Wayne Pierce, 18, Newborn—criminal trespass and loitering or prowling.
•Justin Michael Vanhorn, 18, Monticello—criminal trespass and loitering and prowling.
During this same period officers with the MPD responded to 56 calls for service including 27 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, five vandalism of property, four alarm, three trouble unknown, two each special detail, crowd disbursement and argument, one each armed robbery, speeding auto, escort or convoy, shortness of breath, assault, four wheeler, music/noise complaint, shoplifter, trespassing seizure and stroke.
