Middle School Cougars Post Close Win

The Piedmont Academy Middle School football team defeated Windsor 8-0 last week in a contest Cougars coach Wes Tanner said was a “hard fought game by both teams.”

“The game was back and forth and we could not convert some fourth downs deep in their territory,” Tanner said. “Our defense kept us in the game led by strong play from Wyatt Galloway. Offensively, we moved the football well, we just could not cash in on some good scoring opportunities early.”

Tyler Mills and Mack Brady helped lead the team offensively while Talon Anglin and Zach Mooney played well on the line.

“It was a great effort and we definitely played Piedmont’s brand of football,” Tanner said. “We stuck to the game plan and executed it for the most part.”

Piedmont will travel to John Milledge Thursday for a 6 p.m. contest.
