Middle School Canes Open Season

CANES TACKLE TO OPEN FIELD FIR RUNNER

The MS ‘Canes traveled to Monroe last week for their first game of the season and lost to Carver 34-18.

According to MS Head Football Coach Buddy Cain the team played well in the first half and actually had the lead by 18-14.

The MS ‘Canes fatigued in the second half and were out scored by Carver by 20 points to take the lead and eventually the win.

Matthew Lawson, who plays both the quarterback and running back positions, scored two touchdowns and running back Jamarius Johnson scored another touchdown, all in the first half, but the team was unable to convert the extra points.

The team was scheduled to play their home opener yesterday, Wednesday, September 12 versus Morgan. they are scheduled to play their third game on Wednesday, September 19 at home versus Youth MS from Loganville.
