Middle School Cougars Begin Season
Piedmont Academy’s Middle School football team returned to the field for a new season last week taking part in a jamboree hosted by Windsor.
The Cougars fell to Tiftarea 12-6 while defeating host Windsor 14-8. Coach Wes Tanner saw plenty of positives from his players in the event.
“It was a great set up and a good way for a first game to go,” Tanner said. “The players had a really gutty performance and that is something to be proud of. I can’t say enough about how hard they work. It’s really great to see that.”
Piedmont will host Windsor today, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m.
“We know they have a good squad and that they can definitely come over here and beat us if we don’t have the right amount of intensity and play up to our ability,” Tanner said. “I am proud of these players and look forward to seeing them get better.”
