LIFT-A-THON

Members of the Monticello Hurricane Football Team culminated their summer weight lifting program with the annual lift-a-thon on the Square Saturday.

Hurricane coaches brought the weight benches to the square so the community could see firsthand what the young men have been doing in the weight room all summer.

More than 40 Hurricane players were on hand to benchpress during the lift-a-thon. Prior to Saturday, the players had gotten pledges and donations from the community with the money raised going toward the players’ spirit packs.

Head football coach Eddie Roberts was pleased with the turnout of young men and the support of the community.
