RAINY WEATHER

Weather may have been a factor in a two-car accident that occurred on a stormy night last Friday.

Clayton Beasley, driving a 1984 Mazda Protege was traveling east on Julia Street. He attempted to turn left onto Highway 83 when his vehicle collided with a 2004 Dodge Frontier driven by Christopher McMichael who was traveling south on Hwy. 83.

Mr. Beasley was cited for failure to yield, no tag, and no insurance, according to a report from the Georgia State Patrol.

As for the weather last Friday, storms produced some strong winds, heavy rain, and dark clouds (bottom picture) but produced no significant damages countywide, according to 911 Director Melissa Slocumb.

The 911 Center did receive some calls about power outages and trees down with the bulk of the activity in the Hillsboro area.
