SHADY DALE LIBRARY

More than 25 people were in attendance as the Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce hosted the ribbon cutting. Mayor Heaton cut the ribbon and spoke with the attendees about how proud he was to call Shady Dale home.
There were refreshments served as guests toured the library which features local authors, J.S. “Chick” Wilson, Ted Dunagan, and Johnny Neil Smith, as well as local superstar Trisha Yearwood and Jason Aldean. Those at the ribbon cutting included Rep. Susan Holmes of Monticello and State Sen. Johnny Grant of Milledgeville, Greg Wood, Londa Champion, Anna Mickle, Jasper County Commission Chairman Alan Cox, Tim Lam, Rick Cook, Karen Cook, Wes Chester, Bruce Henry, Chief Magistrate Ken Jackson, DeAnn Greenway, Louise Westbrook, Kathy Mudd, Amanda Crews, Karen Bryan, Joan Champion, Margaret Champion, and Shady Dale City Clerk Lyn McLaurin, Also in attendance were Kevin Champion, Sandra Carter, Janice Heaton, Benny Hawthorne, Hannah Pope, Larry Champion, Mr. Wilson, Mary Ellen Wilson, Dan Jordan, Jesse Ruark, Larissa Ruark, and other interested persons.
The library is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Friday from 2-5:30 p.m. Donations will continue to be accepted.
