Youth Football Camp Sees Many

BOYS LEARN DRILLS ON ROSE BOWL FIELD DURING CAMP

The Hurricane Youth Football Camp started on Monday with about 50 students registered and participating in the camp.

Monday and Tuesday included stretching, offensive and defensive instruction and drills, guest speakers, and concluded with two-hand touch scrimmage games.

On Wednesday, the group visited the University of Georgia athletic facilities, including Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall and campus, and ate at the Varsity. Today, the camp will host a punt, pass and kick competition.

The camp is coordinated by middle school science enrichment teacher and coach Buddy Cain, and groups are led by high school technology teacher Gary Cooper, middle school physical education teacher Rydell Jackson, and alternative school teacher Aubrey Fortson, and other coaches as well.
