Superior Court Sees Limited Criminal Cases
Jasper County Superior Court convened Tuesday with Judge James L. Cline, Jr., presiding, and only four criminal cases on the calendar. The results are as follows:
• The court found sufficient evidence that Robert Standifer had violated his parole by the new charges of testing positive for cocaine and failure to pay court ordered fines and fees. Mr. Standifer was sentenced to serve 60 days in the Jasper County Jail (JCJ), to be suspended upon payment of $700 of his arrears, and upon release be returned to specialized probation supervision.
• The court found sufficient evidence that Curtis Ross had violated his parole by the new charges of testing positive for drugs and failure to pay court order fines and fees. Mr. Ross was sentenced to serve 60 days in the JCJ, to be suspended upon payment of $400 of his arrear, and upon release be returned to regular probation.
• Gabriel M. Richards pled guilty to giving inmate items without consent and was sentenced to four years on Intensive Probation Supervision and fines and fees of $762.
• The Court found sufficient evidence that Gregory L. Thurman had violated his parole by the new charge of possession of cocaine and drug related objects. He was sentenced to pay fines and fees of $1,012 and given credit for time served since February 18, 2012, and probation terminated.
