Burt Jones to Run for State Senate

Republican businessman Burt Jones has qualified to run for State Senate district 25. The district includes the Jasper as well as Baldwin, Butts, Greene, Morgan, and Putnam Counties, as well as a portion of Jones, Bibb and Walton Counties.
Mr. Jones is running in the Republican Primary against incumbent Senator Johnny Grant.
Robert Kent of Milledge-ville will also be on the Republican ballot.
“It’s absolutely clear that our district needs new energy and new leadership,” said Mr. Jones. “Our district has suffered more than any other during this economic downturn. Seeing the closure of hundreds of businesses, numerous institutions and prisons, resulting in the loss of thousands of jobs.
“It’s time for work, it’s time for energy,” said Mr. Jones. “I’ve been an energetic leader all my life, making a difference in everything I put my heart into,” he said.
