Erin Lynch Qualifies for School Board

Erin Lynch qualified last Thursday to run for the District 2 Board of Education seat.

Ms. Lynch has been an active volunteer in Jasper County schools since 2005 when her first child entered the primary school. In the past seven years, she has been a member of the Oarebt-Teach Organizations (PTOs) at Jasper County Primary School (JCPS), Washington Park Elementary School (WPES), and Jasper County Middle School (JCMS), holding positions of vice-president and then president for two years at the primary school. This past year, she was the assistant treasurer for the JCMS PTO.

For the past four years, Ms. Lynch has been a member of the Parent School Council at WPES. Since 2010, she has been a member of the Superintendant’s Parent/Community Advisory Board. This past spring, she was a member of the Board of Education Standards Committee and also attended as a parent representative from Jasper County schools the first Georgia Family Engagement Conference held in Athens.

Ms. Lynch moved to Jasper County at the age of six. She graduated from Piedmont Academy and then earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., and a Masters of Science in Nursing from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville. She is currently employed by Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville.

Ms. Lynch is married to Jim Lynch, who is both a graduate and former teacher at Jasper County High School (JCHS). They have three children currently in the Jasper County school system: Braden, a rising 7th grader; Ben, a rising 5th grader; and Ethan, a rising 3rd grader. Their family is active in Monticello Baptist Church where Ms. Lynch teaches a weekly missions class of 3 and 4 year olds and is active in the Women’s Ministry.

“The vision of Jasper County Schools is ‘to provide committed staff, supportive environments, and high standards to achieve academic growth and success.’ I want this vision to be a continuous reality for students of Jasper County, no matter what the economic climate looks like. I want this vision to be a reality; not just for my three children, but for all the students in Jasper County schools. I would be honored to have the chance to serve District 2 as its school board member,” Said Ms. Lynch.
