Randolph Levi McMichael

Randolph Levi McMichael, 93, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Mr. McMichael was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. His parents were the late John Henry Levi McMichael and Naomi Jinks McMichael. He was a member of the Monticello First United Methodist Church, men’s Bible Class, and attended New Hope United Methodist Church.

He was a former member of the Monticello Jaycees and a member of the ROMEO Club (retired old men eating out). Before retirement, he was a manager for Jasper County Lumber Company. Mr. McMichael was a skilled craftsman and sold his furniture at arts and crafts fairs, and later, from his home.

His wife, Helen Frances Benton McMichael; and brothers and sister, O.B. McMichael, Myrtice Pope, Arthur McMichael, Chess McMichael, Aubie McMichael, and M.O. “Red” McMichael, all preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Sheria Lin “Hoppie” Boyd McMichael of Monticello; children and spouses, Randy and Merie McMichael of Eatonton, Tony and Frances McMichael of Winter Haven, Florida, Susan and Paul Burnore of Hampton, Alf and Marianne Tuggle of Dallas, Texas, and Jim and Martha Ann Tuggle of Americus; grandchildren, Deirdre Sapp, Bryan McMichael, Andrew McMichael, Alex McMichael, Matt Tuggle, Brad Tuggle, Levi Tuggle, Travis Tuggle, and Nathan Burnore; great-grandchildren, Randolph Ean “Res” Sapp, Annabell Sapp, Chance Sapp, Nathanael Lee Burnore, Jaylan Paige Burnore, and Boyd Tuggle; and brother, Griff McMichael of Monticello.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 31, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Monticello First United Methodist Church. Interment will be in West View Cemetery. Dr. John Brown and Rev. Matt Tuggle will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Bryan McMichael, Jody Sapp, Andrew McMichael, Brad Tuggle, Levi Tuggle, Travis Tuggle, and Nathan Burnore.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 30, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.
