Shiloh Knights Win Final Game at Home

RUNNER SCORES AT HOME JUST UNDER CATCHER

The Shiloh Christian Academy Knights baseball team wrapped up their inaugural season with a 9-6 win over the visiting Griffin Christian Academy Crusaders.

The win allowed SCA to finish with double digit wins in their first season ending their season with a 10-7 overall record.

Caleb Compton got the start on the mound for the Knights and pitched a complete game in earning the victory while striking out four. Compton also starred at the plate with three hits while David Sorrells, Jacob Young, and Jonathan Martin also had big offensive days, each adding RBI hits.

The visiting Crusaders jumped out to an early one run lead at 1-0 in the first, but Shiloh quickly answered with two of their own and another in the second, leading 3-1.

Griffin tied the game at three before Shiloh added two making the score 6-4 after five.

The resilient Crusaders would rally in the sixth to tie the game at six, before Will Mitchell would lead off the bottom of the sixth with a single to right and Micah Compton would walk and come around on a Caleb Compton double to start a three run inning for the home team.

Compton would retire GCA on three ground balls to shortstop Sorrells in the seventh to end the game and earn the win.

It was a great win to end a successful first season for SCA, who plans to expand to varsity as well as middle school baseball for next season.

The Christian-based school also plans to add middle school and varsity softball to their athletic offerings in the fall.
