Clarence Crutchfield
Clarence Crutchfield, Sr., 86, of Hillsboro, died April 30, 2012.
Clarence Crutchfield, Sr., also known as “Bud,” was born June 2, 1926 to the late Robert and Beauty Crutchfield.
As a long time member of The Church—The Body of Christ, Mr. Crutchfield served as a faithful, devoted deacon until his health failed. With a loving heart and dedication, Mr. Crutchfield lived a life that impacted everyone around him. Showing devotion to his family, he was the “World’s Greatest Dad and Pa-pa.”
On February 17, 1946 Mr. Crutchfield married Johnnie Ann Jackson, and together they lived happily for 66 years. Having retired in the mid ’80s from Dexter Axle in Monticello, he enjoyed lawn maintenance and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four children and spouses, Judy and John Wilson of Juliette, Patricia Ann Crutchfield of Alpharetta, Clarence Crutchfield, Jr. and Stacey, of Hickory NC, and Ricky and LaVita Crutchfield of Jackson; a brother, Ulysses Crutchfield, Sr. and a sister, Ola Mae Luckie; both of Mansfield, OH; six grandchildren, Jemica, Tonya, Rashad, DeAshley, Daishawan, Natalie; five great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives.
Services were held Saturday, May 5, at The Church The Body of Jesus Christ in Gray. Bishop Joe L. Ridley officiated; burial was in the Crutchfield Family Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
