MS ‘Canes Win Second in Conference

MIDDLE SCHOOL CANES CELEBRATE SECOND PLACE

The Jasper County Middle School Hurricane baseball team claimed the second place trophy in the Piedmont Athletic Conference Saturday in a long day of tournament play.

The Hurricanes started off the tourney with a forfeit by Greene County for the Hurricane win, then went on to defeat Social Circle 17-11 to advance to the championship game.

The ’Canes fought hard, but were defeated 10-4 by Morgan County, ultimately giving the Hurricanes second place in the conference.

Members of the team include Stephen Arena, Garrett Scroggs, Chad Cain, Jacob Cavender, Jordan Stone, Trevor Clement, Brelan Crowe, Thomas Deraney, Cain Gonzales, Kyle Smith, Tyler Seawright, Caleb Usry, Westin Rabon, Robert Womack, and Ryan Womack.

Also working with the team during the tournament were Braden Lynch, Glendon Graybill, Bailey Cook, and Wyatt Currie.

Coaches were John Graybill and Scott Cooper.
