MS Diamond Cougars Earn Win
The Piedmont Academy Middle School baseball team benefited from scoring four runs in both the second and fourth innings to record an 8-1 victory against Bethlehem Christian Academy Saturday.
Austin Taylor worked all five innings allowing just one hit and one earned run. Taylor recorded 12 strikeouts along with four walks.
Offensively, Taylor was 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Tyler Mills was 1-for-3 and also drove in a run. Wyatt Galloway drove in two runs and was 1-for-3 at the plate.
Chris Cain was 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored and Cody Blackmon was 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI. Blackmon and Cain both had doubles. Michael Edwards and Blackmon had stolen bases.
The defensive effort was also solid as the Middle School Cougars did not commit an error.
Piedmont will play at Windsor Friday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m. and host Loganville Christian and Mount de Sales Saturday, April 21, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
