Shiloh Wins Nail-Biter at Trinity Christian

The Shiloh Christian Academy (SCA) Knights continued their winning ways on Monday when they traveled to Dublin and took a hard fought one run victory over the Trinity Christian School Crusaders for their sixth win in a row.

Overall the pitchers dueled it out and each held the other team to limited hits and runs, making them a premium.

Trinity got on the board first in the bottom of the second when they started the inning with back to back hits before starting pitcher, David Sorrells, struck out the next two batters.

The Crusaders were able to push a run across on a wild pitch, however, before the Knights were able to close out the inning.

SCA responded immediately in the top of the third when leadoff hitter, Matthew Lawson led off with a single and stole second before moving to third on a wild pitch.

After two strikeouts, Lawson executed a steal of home to tie the score at one, where the score remained until the bottom of the fourth.

In the home fourth, Trinity pieced together a lead off error and a couple of hits to score two runs and take a 3-1 lead entering the fifth. The visiting Knights once again immediately responded by scoring two runs of their own thanks to a Micah Compton walk and Sorrells double with both coming around to score.

The score remained 3-3 until the seventh inning when, Jonathan Martin led off being hit by a pitch. He stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch with one out before plating the go ahead run on a ground out of the bat of Lawson.

Sorrells pitched around a two out error to leave the potential tying run on base in the bottom half of the inning to preserve the 4-3 win.

Shiloh moves to 6-1 on the season with the win and starting pitcher Sorrells struck out six in improving his record to 3-0.

Shiloh starts a three game homestand by playing Peachtree Academy from Covington this Thursday, followed by home games with Central Fellowship from Macon on Monday, and Peachtree again on Tuesday.

The Knights will return to the road next Thursday when they travel to Conyers to play Young Americans Christian School. All games are at 4 p.m.
