Mary Elizabeth Wyatt Summers
Mary Elizabeth Wyatt Summers, 88, of Shady Dale, died March 21, 2012 at Abbey Hospice.
Mrs. Summers was born August 19, 1923 in Lexington, to the late Pierce Reese and Bessie Bray Colquitt.
Mrs. Summers was a great woman who dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved to dance, enjoyed word search puzzles, and working in the yard.
Mrs. Summers was preceded in death by her husbands, John Carlton Wyatt and Jack Summers; and a son, Johnny Wyatt.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Rev. Edward Lewallen of Shady Dale, Kathy and Donald Miller of Madison; grandchildren, Leigh Crawford, Dennis Lewallen, Pam Hude, Lisa Quarles, Valerie Thompson, Angie Stapp, Darrell Miller, Le Ann Airington, and Christopher Wyatt; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Blondean Colquitt of Monroe, Dorothy Colquitt of Jersey, and Mattie Wyatt, of Shady Dale. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
A service was held Friday, March 23 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Newborn. Pastor Danny Sorrells and Rev. Ed Lewallen, officiated. Interment was held at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery.
Harwell Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel, Covington was in charge of arrangements.
