George Thomas “Tommy” Dooley

George Thomas “Tommy” Dooley, 71, of Snellville, died Friday, March 23, 2012, at Eastside Medical Center in Snellville.

Mr. Dooley was born in Monticello to the late George Oglesby Dooley and Dorothy Louise Boyd Dooley. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Snellville. Mr. Dooley loved watching all sporting events. Before retirement, he was a landscaper for G&B Landscaping in Suwannee.

A brother, James Harold Dooley preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Nickens Dooley of Snellville; children and spouses, Nicholas and Samantha Dooley, Jana and James Bowen, and Mimi and Glenn Tippens all of Covington, and Lana and Deran Darby of Snellville; grandchildren, Jonathan White, Matthew White, Katie Davis, Lynn Darby, Thomas Darby, Glenn Tippens, and Morgan Tippens; great-grandchildren, Kyle White, Brandon Davis, Jaeden Davis, and Bristol Tippens; and brothers and sisters, Troy Dooley of Lebanon, Tenn., Wayne Dooley of Jackson, Linda Wood and Terri Tooke, both of Monticello.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 26, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Monticello Baptist Church. Burial will be held in Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery in Mansfield. Dr. Robert Whitmire will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be friends of Tommy Dooley.
