Probation Is Revoked for Several
David Lamar Mitchell appeared in Jasper Superior Court Tuesday, March 6, with Judge John Lee Parrott, presiding, for a probation revocation hearing. Mr. Mitchell was accused of failing to report and failing to pay court ordered fines and fees.
Mr. Mitchell was on probation for multiple counts of theft by shoplifting, criminal trespass, burglary and theft by taking in four separate prosecutions. After the court found sufficient evidence that he had indeed violated his probation, he was sentenced to serve 300-365 days in a state detention center, and upon release be placed on one year of intensive probation.
Also, the court found sufficient evidence that the following other individuals had violated their probation for charges as indicated below, and were sentenced as follows:

•Kenneth D. Temples, who was on probation for conviction of aggravated assault, obstruction of officers, battery and giving false information, was found to have violated his parole by failure to report. He was sentenced to serve two years in the state penal system to be followed by regular probation as originally ordered.
•Cordell Marks, who was on probation for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and interference with government property, was found to have violated his probation by committing the new offenses of burglary and disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to to serve the balance of his probation in the state penal system with an end date May 3, 2014.
•Bob Lester Johnson, who was on probation for possession of marijuana, was found to have violated his probation by failure to report and testing positive for THC. He was sentenced to serve 90 days in the Jasper County Jail with credit for time served, and the sentence to be suspended upon acceptance into a drug treatment program for a minimum of three months.
•Brianna Pickett, who was on probation for sale of a controlled substance, was found to have violated her probationby committing the offense of battery and failure to pay court ordered fines. She was sentenced to serve 60 days with credit for time served since February 27, 2012, and upon completion return to regular probation.
•Jacob Lee Holland, who was on probation for the charge of driving under the influence, was found to have violated his parole by failure to report and failure to submit to a drug screen. He was sentenced to 120 days to serve with an end date of June 29, 2012.
•Kelvin Head, who was on probation for conviction on the charge of forgery in the first degree, was found to have violated his probation by committing the same offense in Butts County. He was sentenced to serve the balance of his probation in the state penal system with an end date of February 5, 2013.
In two other cases, the following two individuals pled guilty to charges as indicated and were sentenced as shown below:
•Marlayna C. Cordell pled guilty to theft by taking and driving while license suspended—sentenced to five years with 60-120 days to serve, restitution and fines and fees of $812.
•Hadley Luke Jackson pled guilty to reckless driving—sentenced to 12 months probation, ordered to complete alcohol and drug education course and fines and fees of $569.
In addition, on Friday, March 2, the Jasper County Magistrate Court convened for criminal arraignments with Judge Kenneth G. Jackson, presiding, during which the following cases were processed:
•Patrick Ellis Rose pled guilty to disorderly conduct—sentenced to 12 months probation, 30 hours community service and $210 in fines.
•Jonathan Matthew Tallent pled guilty to purchase or possession of alcohol by a minor—sentenced to 12 months probation, 40 hours community service and $280 in fines.
•Brandon Egnor pled guilty to disorderly conduct—sentenced to 12 months probation 30 hours of community service and $210 in fines.
•A prewarrant application was issued for the arrest of Amanda Custer for the charge of mandatory education requirements.
•A prewarrant application was denied for Curtis Eric Glawson on the accusation of child abandonment.
•A prewarrant application was put into abeyance for three months for Jodie Minix on the accusation of child abandonment.
•Cecil Wayne Wheeler pled not guilty to the charge of animals running at large, and is scheduled for a bench trial tomorrow, March 16.
